Collection and recycling of materials is practiced and encouraged in the guest rooms, bathrooms, the restaurants and the convention centre spaces and we have refillable soap dispensers in the bathrooms to further reduce waste.
Our commitment is demonstrated by the promotion of ‘Green Services’ such as the offer of bike rental, a standard push-bike or electric bike with pedal assistance
available for our guest and the opportunity to rent an all electric Mercedes Benz ‘Smart Car’

The Management being aware of the importance of the safeguard of the environment and of the impact that the tourism industry involves both on local scale and global scale, has undertaken at its operative unit Grand Hotel Mediterraneo an improvement path adopting an environmental management system compliant to the standards UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 and at the Regulation 1221/2009/CE EMAS.

Rationalize the use of energy resources, promoting:

Adoption of organizational solutions aimed at minimizing electricity consumption (for example motion sensors for lighting).
Optimize the use of water resources:
Adopting technological solutions to reduce the consumption of water (for example flow reducers).
Raising awareness of the end customer about the importance of saving water starting with small gestures.
Encourage the separate collection of waste
Reduce the impacts resulting from the purchase of consumer products, such as amenities supplied to the rooms.
Pay particular attention to the environmental awareness to the final customer, with the awareness of the extent of the impact of communication of our accommodation, situated in one of the most important art cities of Italy.
