The history of the FH55 Hotels
The history of the FH55 Hotels Group is rooted in a long tradition of Italian hospitality.
The name itself embodies this identity: FH stands for Florence Hospitality, a tribute to the city of Florence where the entrepreneurial vision of founder Dino Innocenti took shape, while 55 refers to 1955, the year the Group’s first hotel, the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo—one of the largest hotels in Italy at the time—opened.
Since then, the Group has evolved while preserving its core values.
Dino Innocenti was born on January 20, 1902, into a modest family.
At just fifteen years old, Dino began working his father’s artisan workshop where he learned the tricks of the trade and developed the technical and practical skills that would stay with him all his life.
